The Gourley Family Christmas Party 2011

The Gourley Family Christmas Party was a blast. We had a delicious dinner followed by yummy desserts and good company to visit with.

When we were done eating we started the gift exchange (it’s like a white elephant gift exchange with class; each person brings a gift for $20, and they are always nice).  We weren’t able to participate this year, but it was still fun to watch people open the gifts and get them stolen away.

Our family got some gifts outside of the gift exchange though. Jan got Elyas a cute little musical lion. Elyas loves it, but we think that we are going to mute it a bit with some duct tape; that way Elyas can still enjoy the musical toy without waking daddy up in the mornings. Kim received a beautiful colorful handmade scarf from Aunt Chris. November received some clothing and blankets from Aunt Jan. The family received a really nice, soft Christmas blanket from Aunt Jan; we love it. We love all of our gifts.

We were glad we got to go and see everyone, it was so fun. Thanks to those of you who gave us gifts this year, it was really thoughtful and sweet.

The Bland Family Christmas Party 2011

We arrived at the bland family Christmas party a tad late, but we are just happy we were able to go and see everyone.  We drove Kim’s mom, and she certainly got a kick out of us temporarily getting lost. We had looked at the map ahead of time and planned our own route, but it turns out that certain streets didn’t really connect like the map made them appear.

There was yummy food and good company.  We ate and visited, we had a white elephant gift exchange (thank you Janet for bringing enough presents for us to participate in the game), and we sang Christmas Carols.  We ended up scoring a Desktop Organizer and a projector.  Elyas scored some markers; we think he is going to love them.

Overall it was a fun party and we were glad we could make it; we didn’t get many pictures, which is sad, but here are a few that were taken.
